Wefts in Hair Extensions July 24th, 2010

Hair Extensions have really taken off in a big way over the last couple of years. In the past, they were generally restricted to celebrities and stars. Not any more. Many thousands of women are taking the plunge and getting Hair Extensions done because it is a simple, painless way in which to radically enhance their looks. Just imagine; you can add on hair which has length, shine and bounce and is colored in whatever shade you want. Is it then any wonder that you now see so many women around you who have been through this procedure? Want to know a bit more? Let us tell you about some of the basics.

Hair Extensions, as we are sure you know, is a process by which additional hair is added on to your own natural crop with the help of one of three methods. The first of these methods is the clip-on variety where the extensions are clipped on to your original hair.  The second method that is used is the Fusion System. Here, the old and the new hair are coated at the ends with adhesives and then fused together. This fusion can either be done by a “hot” method where a heated fusion tool is used or by a “cold’ method when keratin-based polymer is utilized to bond the two types of hair together. And finally there is the Weave System where the hair extension is actually sewn into a person’s natural hair.

So much for the methods of extension. Now let us focus on the two ways these methods are applied.  One is with Individual Strands and the other is with Wefts. The Individual Strand Method involves selecting between 30-40 strands of the hair that you have chosen for the process and applying these to small sections of your real hair. The Weft method is one by which small batches of hair, held together at the top and flowing freely at the other end, is attached to your head. These Wefts can be made out of either real human hair or synthetic hair and may be hand-made or machine-made. The experts generally feel that the hand-made ones are superior. The Wefts match the color of your own hair and are indistinguishable once they are inserted. Whether you decide on the clip-on method, the weaving method or the bonding one, Wefts are what are principally used as attachments in the Hair Extension process.

After the Wefts are inserted, you have to brush them to cover the evidences of sewing or  binding that has taken place during the process. Do it carefully and cleverly and nobody will know that the hair on your head is not all your own.

The Imortance of Wefts July 24th, 2010

Hair Extensions have become immensely popular amongst women who wish to add length and fullness to their hair. As you probably know, it is a process by which additional hair is attached to your natural hair to give the impression that you have a more beautiful head of hair than you actually do. For this extension process, two methods are generally used – the Individual Strands Method and the Wefts method. In the case of the former, the “extensionist” selects around 30-40 strands of hair. These she attaches to sections of your real hair by differing methods such as heat fusing, gluing or clamping with metal rods.

The Weft method is quite different and requires your “extensionist” to either put together herself or obtain Wefts which she will attach to your head. It’s necessary here to explain to you what Wefts are; otherwise this process will not make sense to you. Wefts are small batches of hair which are held together at the top and flow freely at the other end. The side which is held together is attached to your hair and the free-flowing side is allowed to fall and mingle with your own hair. When you brush this in, it’ll be impossible to tell it apart from your natural crop.

Wefts can be made out of real or synthetic hair. At one time, real hair was definitely superior to the synthetic variety as the latter simply did not look natural. But times have changed and the research done on synthetic fibers have ensured that the artificial hair produced synthetically is pretty close to real hair. And the added advantage is that it is cheaper, so it is difficult to make the choice these days.

The other choice you will have to make in respect of Wefts is whether to choose machine-made ones or those made by hand. According to experts, the best Wefts are those made by hand. Again, these are more expensive than the Wefts made on machines.

Once the Wefts are ready, there are two ways in which they are usually attached to your hair. One is by sewing them on to a braid which is made out of your own hair. These braids are known as tracks and run horizontally around the back of your head. There will be as many tracks as there are Wefts and when professionally done, it’ll be as if it’s all your own hair. The other way that Wefts can be attached is through the Clip-On method where the Wefts are clipped on to your hair with the aid of micro-clips.

These then are the facts that you need to know about Wefts. With all the details we have given you, we are sure you will be in a position to make an informed decision. We are sure you will choose wisely.

The importance of Wefts in Hair Extension Process July 24th, 2010

There are very few women nowadays who aren’t bothered about the way they look. This is not surprising as fashion magazines, movies and shows are constantly bombarding you with images of beautiful women. Naturally, it becomes hard for anyone to continue with their “plain jane” look and not to aspire to an enhanced appearance for themselves. It is natural and normal and you needn’t feel that you are becoming vain. Upgrade your clothes, upgrade your accessories and do up your face. But the area where you can achieve the maximum mileage is your hair. A full body of hair which bounces and shines can set any woman apart and make her look doubly glamorous. But here’s the catch. What if you don’t possess the kind of hair that forces men to look at you again and again? Thankfully, with Hair Extensions being so easily available, this need not be an impediment anymore.

Hair Extension is a process by which additional hair is added to your own through one of several methods which are available. The effect of this can be electrifying with you looking as glamorous as the fashion models you see in magazines, with your magnificent mane of hair wafting in the wind. Let us tell you a bit about what this method entails. You can adopt the Clip-In System, the Fusion System or the Weave System. In the Clip-In way, the extensions are clipped on to your natural hair with the help of micro-clips. The Fusion way entails coating the tips of both your own hair and the additional hair with adhesives and then fusing them together with a heated fusion tool or with the help of keratin-based polymer. The Weave system is one where the additional hair is actually sewn into your own hair.

For most of these systems, there are two kinds of forms in which the additional hair is made available. One is the Individual Strands method and the second is the Wefts method. The first involves picking out around 30-40 strands of the additional hair that you are going to use and attaching these to your real hair. You pick as many batches as are required till the concerned area is fully covered. The Wefts method, on the other hand, utilizes small batches of hair which are already clumped together. They are held together at one end and left loose at the other. The side that is held together is attached to your head and the free-flowing side is combed into place so that it becomes impossible to tell that it is not your real hair.

Wefts can be obtained in various lengths and in the color of your choice. They can be made out of human hair or synthetic material. Once they are fitted into place, your hair assumes a style and look far different from your previous hairdo. So why wait? Go for that Hair Extension which could dramatically alter the quality of your life.

The Value of Wefts July 24th, 2010

Once a lady has decided to use the process of Hair Extension, she will have to interact with her “extensionist” to decide on which procedure to use. The two most commonly used forms are The Individual Strands method and the Wefts one. The Individual Strands procedure is one where you select between 30-40 strands of the hair you have chosen for the extension process and then attach these to a small section of your real hair. Generally, this procedure works well when the additional hair is being glued or bonded to your real hair. For the Weaving procedure and even the Clip-On process, Wefts are the preferred form of extension.
What are Wefts? They are small batches of hair which are held together at one end and which flow freely on the other. These batches are attached to your head through the use of one of the procedures that form the extension process. It could be the Weaving process where the Wefts are stitched on to your own hair. It could be the Clip-On process where small clips are fixed on the Wefts and the clips then attached to your hair. Rather than the Individual Strands Method which could become somewhat tedious to apply, Wefts allow an “extensionist” to do the attachments far more easily as they come already batched up.
Wefts can come in many varieties. You can have Wefts made out of natural human hair or those made out of synthetic fibers. Whether you choose the one or the other will depend on many factors, most importantly the amount you are willing to spend on the process. Be warned that the Wefts made out of human hair are more expensive than the synthetic ones.
The next decision you will have to make is whether you choose hand-made Wefts or machine-made ones. It is generally acknowledged that hand-made Wefts are superior in quality to the other variety although they may cost more and take more time to produce. The two points that are raised in favor of hand-made Wefts are that the hair color and quality can be more closely matched during the process of getting it ready by hand and that individual workmanship ensures a more natural looking Weft than the machine-made one. It has also been found that the hand-made variety lasts longer than those which are machine-made.
There are a lot of positives which can be said about Wefts. But, in the long run, it will all depend on what you and your stylist consider the better option. Just keep what we have said in mind when you make the choice.

Weft Hair Extensions July 24th, 2010

So you want to look more glamorous by going through the process of Hair Extension? Fine, but before you do, it may be worth your while finding out about the details of this procedure. Let us first talk about the two kinds of forms in which the additional hair can be inserted. First, there is the Individual Strands method and then there is the Weft Hair Extensions. The first method entails picking out around 30-40 strands of the hair that will be used in the extension process and attaching these to your own hair. This procedure will have to be continued with until the target area is fully covered. With Weft Hair Extensions, what happens is that small batches of hair are already clamped together. They are held together at one end and left loose at the other. The side that is held together is attached to your head and the free-flowing side is blended with your own hair by combing it into place. When Weft Hair Extensions are expertly done, it becomes impossible to tell that the hair extension is not your own.

Weft Hair Extensions can be made in the color of your choice and in whatever length that you want. They can be formed out of human hair or synthetic material and, once they are fitted in and smoothed over, Weft Hair Extensions can make you look as glamorous and striking as the models and film stars you see on the covers of magazines and on the silver screen.

Hair Extension Processes July 24th, 2010

When ladies decide to have a Hair Extension Process carried out, there are two areas on which they need to take a decision. One is the type of application method they wish to adopt. And the second is the type of hair they want used. We will give you some inputs on both these questions and leave you to take a final call depending on factors such as the budget you have in mind or your personal preference.

Let us first try and focus on the two application methods that are most commonly in use: Individual Strands and Wefts. The Individual Strand Method involves selecting between 30-40 strands of the hair that you have chosen for the process and applying these to small sections of your real hair by differing methods such as heat fusing, gluing or clamping with metal rods. The first two methods will involve applying a chemical or a foreign substance to your own hair while the third method is self-explanatory.

The Weft Method requires your stylist to put together Wefts made out of real or synthetic hair and attaching them to your head. What are Wefts, you will no doubt ask. They are little clumps of hair held together at the top and flowing freely at the other end. They can be machine-made or hand-made but the best Wefts are undoubtedly those made by hand. Also, the advantage of having them made by hand is that your hair color can be matched perfectly as the color can be blended in the making process. Once the Wefts are chosen, they are attached to your head by sewing them on to a braid which is made out of your own hair. These braids are known as tracks and run horizontally around the back of your head. There will be as many tracks as there are Wefts and the hair on the Wefts will be spread evenly to mix with your own hair till it will be virtually impossible to tell them apart.

What sort of hair should you use for the extension process, whichever method you decide to adopt? There are basically two varieties to choose from – extensions made of human hair and those made out of synthetic fabrics. Synthetic hair can never look entirely natural, however well it’s made, though it will be a lot cheaper than real human hair. Remy Human Hair is what looks best because it maintains the thin outer layer or “cuticle” which envelops every shaft of a woman’s hair. Because of this protection, Remy Human Hair retains the natural look and feel of the original hair and it is virtually impossible to detect extended hair if the process is carried out with Remy Hair.
We leave it to you now to decide the method you are going to use for your extension and also the type of hair you’re going to insert. We are sure you will choose wisely!!
